Foundations is a discussion-based exploration of the Christian message. The class encourages participants to share their perspectives and experiences as we engage with God’s revelation in Christ.
Foundations isn’t like a typical class. There are no quizzes or tests or anything like that. And, there’s no pressure to “agree” with what you hear or learn! It’s simply an opportunity to consider the significance of Jesus Christ in history and, perhaps, in your life.
We prefer to hold Foundations in-person, as the discussion is much richer when we’re gathered together in one place. That said, we can do a hybrid in-person and online approach for folks who can’t make it to Ascension - just ask Pastor Ben.
Classes are typically two hours in length, with a break at about halfway, and the goal of covering one lesson per class - for a total of ten meetings. Sometimes that doesn’t happen - especially if the discussion is robust! In that case, we end up meeting more than ten times, but we still keep each meeting to a max of two hours.
